London - Vertonghen dampen rumors that he would leave Tottenham Hotspur . He had no desire to leave Spurs in the transfer market this summer .
Vertonghen future at Spurs still continues to be speculation . When Tim Sherwood was the manager of the Lilywhites , the Belgian international defender has been rumored to want to leave White Hart Lane due to no longer be the primary choice .

However , regardless of who the new manager of Spurs in the upcoming new season , Vertonghen insists he had no intention to leave .
" I 've got a few years left in my contract with Tottenham and I am happy , and I want to stay here , so it does not matter who will be the manager , " said Vertonghen as quoted by ESPN .
" He is a good manager but there are also other good managers . Again, the chairman will make a good decision , " he added .
